Braman Motors Wants to Build Skyscraper Housing in Miami. See the Plans
May 16, 2025Big changes are coming to Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood. Braman Motors, a long-established name in South Florida’s automotive scene, has unveiled an ambitious real estate project that could reshape the city skyline. The plan? Two stunning 60-story residential towers and an 11-story state-of-the-art automotive facility near Wynwood.
A New Chapter for Braman Motors in Edgewater
The proposed development, which spans 21 parcels of land owned by Braman Motors and an additional $13 million in new acquisitions, would transform their current dealership site into a multi-use campus with residential and automotive components. The project is designed by renowned firms Wolfberg Alvarez and Arquitectonica, signaling a high-end, architecturally distinctive vision for the area.
What’s Included in the Braman Miami Project?
The first phase focuses on the automotive tower, which includes:
-
A service lounge with 8,500 square feet
-
A parts warehouse (14,300 sq. ft.)
-
A body and paint shop with 44,200 sq. ft. and 51 bays
-
A massive service center totaling 243,000 sq. ft. with 284 bays and 1,869 parking spaces
Following that, the two luxury residential towers are set to include over 1,100 units. While it remains unclear whether they will be high-end apartments or condominiums, the scale suggests a major addition to Miami’s upscale housing inventory.
Focus on Walkability and Sustainability
Braman aims to revitalize the neighborhood with a pedestrian-friendly design, encouraging biking and walkability. A letter of intent from attorney Melissa Tapanes Llahues notes the project will include enhanced pedestrian and cyclist access — a move aligned with Miami’s evolving urban vision.
What’s Next?
The City of Miami’s Urban Development Review Board approved the proposal with conditions on April 23, and the final review by the Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board is set for June 4. A final vote on the project could take place as soon as July.
Why This Matters for Miami Real Estate
This is more than just a dealership expansion — it’s a sign of Miami’s rapid vertical growth and mixed-use development trend, particularly in hot zones like Edgewater and Wynwood. With influential names like Norman Braman behind the project, the city could soon see another landmark on its skyline.
