Citadel’s Towering Vision: A New Icon Rises in Brickell
April 25, 2025Citadel has submitted updated plans for its striking new supertall tower at 1201 Brickell Bay Drive in Miami—an ambitious $1 billion+ development that will dramatically reshape the city’s skyline.
Tower Height & Design
Soaring to 1,050 feet, the tower will feature a sleek, tapering silhouette with rounded corners and a distinctive louvered shading system inspired by Florida’s vernacular architecture. Designed by the renowned Foster + Partners, the structure will be crowned by a bold, illuminated top that can display various colors—bringing a dynamic glow to the skyline.
Mixed-Use Functionality
The development will include 1.3 million square feet of premium office space and a 212-room luxury hotel, making it a key hub for business and hospitality. A public baywalk will also enhance accessibility and community interaction along the waterfront.
Strategic Partnership
In January 2025, Citadel announced a joint venture with Related Companies to bring the project to life. This powerful alliance combines Citadel’s financial strength with Related’s expertise in real estate development, setting the stage for a landmark addition to Brickell.
Construction Timeline
The project is slated to break ground in the third quarter of 2025, with construction progressing shortly thereafter. Once completed, the tower will be one of the tallest buildings in Miami and one of the most iconic.
Impact on Miami’s Future
Beyond its architectural impact, the development signals Citadel’s confidence in Miami as an emerging global financial and cultural capital. With high-end office space, a luxury hotel, and enhanced public spaces, the tower is expected to draw international businesses and visitors, contributing significantly to the city’s economic and urban growth.
This isn’t just a building—it’s a symbol of Miami’s rising global status and a bold vision for Brickell’s future.
