Clara Homes Granted Site Approval for Third Rental Building in Clara Bay Harbor

Miami-based real estate development firm Clara Homes, founded by James Curnin, has gained approval for its third building in the Clara Bay Harbor project. Clara Bay Harbor is an upscale rental community in Miami’s Bay Harbor neighborhood. The newly approved facility will be the largest of the three, featuring 77 spacious apartments across 1.3 acres. Construction for this building is set to begin in 2024. The project aims to transform the Bay Harbor area into a luxury living destination with New York-style service and various amenities, such as coworking lounges and a rooftop pool.

Clara Homes also secured the purchase of Transfer of Development Rights (TDRs) from the Town of Bay Harbor Islands. This move highlights the demand for rental properties in the neighborhood and demonstrates the city’s confidence in the developer. Clara Bay Harbor will offer 150 luxury rental residences in the Bay Harbor neighborhood, with each of the three buildings having its amenities and services.

The first building, located at 10281 West Bay Harbor Drive, is under construction and expected to open in fall 2024. It will consist of 28 two- to five-bedroom apartments. The groundbreaking for the second building, with 45 apartments, is scheduled for later in the year.

Clara Homes, known for luxury spec homes in Miami and Los Angeles, is venturing into its first South Florida multifamily development with Clara Bay Harbor. Founded in 2014, the vertically integrated real estate firm engages in residential and commercial development, operations oversight, and custom home projects. The company collaborates with innovative architecture firms to create a unique portfolio. Besides the Clara Bay Harbor project, Clara Homes is involved in several other ventures, including waterfront spec homes and privately owned custom homes.
