FIFA Relocating Over 100 Employees from Switzerland to Miami

FIFA is in the process of transferring more than 100 of its employees from Switzerland to the vibrant city of Miami.

The move includes the entire legal department of FIFA and crucial teams responsible for audit, compliance, and risk management, according to information provided by the Associated Press.

The relocation project is slated for completion by August 2024, signifying a significant shift in FIFA’s operational presence.

To facilitate this transition, FIFA has already secured a lease for a spacious 60,000-square-foot office space at 396 Alhambra in the heart of Coral Gables. These newly acquired offices commenced operations just last month, setting the stage for FIFA’s enhanced presence in Miami.

In an exciting development, FIFA President Gianni Infantino is anticipated to make Miami his new base of operations in the lead-up to the highly-anticipated 2026 World Cup. As reported by Bloomberg, Miami is set to play a pivotal role as it is selected to host up to five games during this global sporting event.

Furthermore, Miami has submitted bids to host critical components of the World Cup infrastructure, including the World Cup International Broadcast Center, Media Center, and FanFest, as revealed by the Miami Herald.

It’s worth noting that FIFA’s governing body for the Concacaf region, which encompasses North and Central America and the Caribbean, has already established its headquarters in downtown Miami in 2018. This regional office accommodates more than 50 employees. It is situated at 3 MiamiCentral, solidifying Miami’s status as a hub for FIFA-related activities in the Americas.
