Florida Gains 1,000 New Residents Daily in 2023, According to Census Data

Newly released Census estimates reveal that Florida experienced a population increase of 365,205 over the 12 months ending in 2023. The state’s growth rate for the year was 1.6%, making it the second-fastest-growing state on a percentage basis, with only South Carolina surpassing it.

In terms of sheer numbers, Texas outpaced all other states, adding 473,453 residents during the same period. Despite this, Florida now boasts a population that surpasses New York’s by 3 million residents, and this lead continued to expand throughout the year.

These estimates provide insights into demographic changes for the year ending on July 1, 2023, highlighting Florida’s significant population growth and its position among the fastest-growing states in the nation.
