‘ICONIC’ FERRIS WHEEL started CONSTRUCTION in downtown Miami
October 26, 2019The construction of the observation wheel at Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami started. The opening is programmed before the Super Bowl on February 2020, and parts of the wheel have been in a warehouse for months just waiting for installation.
While the wheel will be much shorter than the London Eye with 443 feet, Bayside representatives have previously said the 176-foot tall wheel would be “iconic.”
The wheel will be lit up with LEDs and will feature forty-two air-conditioned gondolas to seat eight riders each, for a total of 336 passengers. Each gondola will be fully enclosed and climate-controlled. The ride will last from 12 to 15 minutes, and tickets will be sold by app or kiosk.
