Jeff Bezos’ Third Indian Creek Estate Purchase Revealed at $87M

Billionaire Jeff Bezos has acquired his third waterfront estate in Miami’s exclusive Indian Creek Village, bringing his total investment in the area to $144 million. With an estimated net worth of over $197 billion, the Amazon founder purchased the 10,000-square-foot, seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom mansion at 28 Indian Creek Island Road for $87 million under the Sunshine Trust on May 29, as per property records. This acquisition follows reports from April about his pending purchase.

This latest addition comes less than a year after Bezos bought two adjacent waterfront properties on Indian Creek Island, which he plans to redevelop into a more significant estate. Indian Creek Village, a guard-gated island, is home to numerous celebrities, including Tom Brady, singer-songwriter Julio Iglesias, and Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. Only residents and guests can access the island. Recently, another waterfront property on Indian Creek sold for $64.5 million in an off-market transaction.

Bezos’ new nearly 2-acre property features a pool and dock. Initially built in 1956, the house was expanded in 1986 and 2014. Former banker Javier Holtz, who acquired the property for $2.5 million in 1998, sold it to Bezos.

While Bezos and his fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, were searching for a move-in-ready mansion, they found this estate as he continued developing his new property near 11 and 12 Indian Creek Island Road. In October, Bezos purchased the nearly 2-acre estate at 12 Indian Creek for $79 million, a deal facilitated by Dina Goldentayer and Danilo Tavares of Douglas Elliman. Before that, in June 2023, he bought the adjacent mansion for $68 million, brokered by Sohely van Woerkom of Golden Ocean Real Estate, led by Gabriela Espejo.

Bezos, who graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 1982, has deep roots in South Florida. His parents, Mike and Jackie Bezos, also invested in the area, purchasing two waterfront homes in Coral Gables for $78 million two years ago.
