Renowned hedge fund manager Larry Robbins is the newest addition to the cohort of New York billionaires flocking to South Florida. Unlike many of his peers who are transplanting their families and companies, Robbins has opted to keep his firm, Glenview Capital Management, rooted in New York City—at least for now, according to Bloomberg. However, despite his relocation, Robbins has voiced concerns about the potential repercussions for the city if its wealthiest denizens continue to depart.

Expressing apprehension for the fate of New York’s most vulnerable residents amidst this mass exodus, Robbins cautioned, “I am deeply concerned about the risk of the great migration victimizing New York’s most vulnerable. No successful enterprise has thrived by driving away its highest-paying clientele.”

Robbins himself qualifies as one of these high-paying clients, boasting a net worth of $2.2 billion, as reported by Forbes.

In February, Robbins made headlines by purchasing a lavish mansion in Palm Beach Gardens’ prestigious Old Palm Golf Club for $13.9 million. While he, his wife, and their three young children settle into their new abode, plans are underway to construct a residence in Hobe Sound, located in Martin County. Robbins revealed to Bloomberg that his children are enrolled in the Benjamin School, a prestigious private institution in Palm Beach Gardens, reflecting his commitment to providing them with top-tier education opportunities amidst the relocation.
