Lease Updates: OKO and Tao to Open at 830 Brickell; New Japanese Restaurant Coming to Miami Design District

Mediterranean Restaurant and Lounge to Top 830 Brickell Tower

A Mediterranean restaurant and private members-only lounge are set to open on the top two floors of 830 Brickell, Miami’s newest landmark. Miami Members Hospitality, a collaboration between Vlad Doronin’s OKO Group and Tao Group Hospitality, will launch the venue next year in the 55-story office tower, as announced by OKO Group.

Completed this year by OKO Group and Cain International, 830 Brickell is the first standalone office tower in Miami’s Brickell Financial District in over a decade. It is fully leased and houses prestigious tenants like Ken Griffin’s Citadel, Kirkland & Ellis, and Thoma Bravo. This venture marks Miami Members Hospitality’s debut project, with Tao Group leading its operations.

Japanese Dining Ventures Open in Miami Design District

Japanese temaki restaurant Nami Nori will make its Florida debut in the Miami Design District, accompanied by a new dining concept, Matsuyoi. Developed by Launchpad Hospitality and creative partner Pharrell Williams, the restaurants will occupy 3,700 square feet at 156 Northeast 41st Street. Nami Nori, specializing in open-style hand rolls, opens the week of Dec. 16, followed by Matsuyoi on Dec. 30. Both restaurants offer a seasonally rotating menu.

The space is owned by Miami Design District Associates, which includes Dacra and L Catterton Real Estate.

UHealth Expands in Boca Raton

The University of Miami Health System has relocated its Boca Raton clinic to Grover Corlew’s Palmetto Central office campus. The 17,000-square-foot facility at 1489 West Palmetto Central replaces its previous space at Florida Atlantic University’s campus. Palmetto Central spans two buildings totaling 170,000 square feet.

Luxury Showroom Opens in Coral Gables Landmark

Christopher King has launched a high-end showroom in Coral Gables’ historic Douglas Entrance. The showroom, which occupies 12,000 square feet in the former ballroom of city founder George Merrick, offers luxury leather goods, tableware, and custom furniture. Colonnade Properties acquired the Douglas Entrance campus, also known as La Puerta Del Sol, earlier this year for $76 million.

Pilar Coffee Bar Makes Debut in Deerfield Beach

Pilar Coffee Bar and Iced Treats has opened its flagship location in Deerfield Beach, leasing 1,800 square feet at The Cove retail and dining hub. The café offers baked goods alongside a breakfast and lunch menu.

Palm Beach Welcomes Kai Lassen Hats

Designer Kai Lassen has opened a boutique in the Paramount building in Palm Beach, leasing 430 square feet in the historic property. Originally a silent movie theater, Paramount is now a mixed-use development owned by Woerner Holdings, which acquired it in 2021 for $14 million.

These openings highlight South Florida’s expanding culinary, retail, and cultural scene.
