Miami Marlins Pitcher Jesus Luzardo Purchases Condo in Mercedes-Benz Places Miami

Pitcher Jesus Luzardo, who kicked off the 2024 season as the Miami Marlins’ Opening Day starter, has signed a deal to purchase a condo in the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Places Miami. The development, a collaboration between New York-based JDS Development Group and Mercedes-Benz AG, was announced in February. The 67-story Brickell tower at 191 S.W. 12th Street will feature 791 Mercedes-Benz-branded condos, 200,000 square feet of office and fitness spaces, and a 174-room Treehouse Hotel.

Luzardo, born in Peru and raised in South Florida, will own a 1,267-square-foot, two-bedroom condo in the tower, although the purchase price remains undisclosed. However, similar units in the building are priced at $1.7 million. Rafael Montejo of Serhant represented the developer in the deal, while Luzardo’s agent, Ismara Arcila of Partnership Realty, represented him.

Construction of the Mercedes-Benz Places Miami has begun, with completion projected for 2027. Luzardo’s real estate acquisition aligns with the timeline of his contract, as the left-hander, who signed a one-year, $5.5 million deal for 2024, is eligible for arbitration the next two seasons and will become a free agent in 2027.

Luzardo’s baseball career began when the Washington Nationals drafted him in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft. After a brief stint with the Oakland Athletics, where he made his major league debut in 2019, Luzardo was traded to the Marlins in 2021. This season, Luzardo was sidelined due to an injury on June 22, and he’s expected to miss the rest of the season.
