Miami Waterfront Mansion Once Owned by Madonna Sells in Eight-Figure Deal

August 18, 2023

An opulent Mediterranean-style estate that once graced the portfolio of Madonna, the reigning Queen of Pop, has recently changed hands in a substantial off-market transaction. Situated on the prestigious Brickell Avenue in Miami, the former residence of hits like “Like a Prayer” and “Material Girl” has fetched a notable sum of $20.3 million, showcasing the dynamic nature of the current real estate market, even in the vibrant South Florida region. Notably, this sale price falls short of the estate’s $29 million valuation during its previous sale in 2021.

While public listing was only evident after this latest exchange, historical records and media coverage provide insights into the remarkable property. Encompassing nearly 8,700 square feet, the mansion boasts an impressive layout with nine bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms. The estate enjoys 100 feet of picturesque water frontage, providing captivating vistas of Biscayne Bay and the city skyline. Adding to its allure, a private dock further enhances the estate’s desirability.

The seller of this iconic property was formally recorded as Brickell Holdings Trust. At the same time, the purchasing entity was identified as 3007miami LLC, according to official documents filed with PropertyShark this week. Despite these disclosures, both parties remained unavailable for comment regarding the transaction.

Madonna, now 64 years old, acquired this splendid residence for $4.9 million in 1992 and retained ownership until 2000. During her tenure, she invested $700,000 in extensive renovations, a detail previously highlighted by Mansion Global. In 2000, the property changed hands for $7.5 million in cash, with the buyer being Gunther Corp., purportedly representing the “richest dog in the world,” a German Shepherd named Gunther. This extravagant fortune, reportedly totaling $80 million, was attributed to a late German Countess.

Upon the estate’s reappearance on the market in 2021, speculation once again surrounded the enigmatic pup and its supposed ownership. However, subsequent investigations ultimately debunked the whimsical tale of Gunther’s property ownership, culminating in a Netflix documentary series that intricately explores the twists and turns of this captivating narrative.
