Miami Worldcenter Grand Opening Marks a New Chapter for Downtown Miami

May 30, 2025

After nearly two decades of planning and development, Miami Worldcenter is officially celebrating its Grand Opening this week, signifying a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of Downtown Miami. The $6 billion, 27-acre mega-development is ushering in a new era for the city’s urban core, turning it into a vibrant, walkable destination where people live, shop, dine, and play. Located in the heart of the city and spanning 10 city blocks, Miami Worldcenter is one of the largest and most ambitious urban development projects in the United States. Developed by Miami Worldcenter Associates, led by Managing Partners Art Falcone and Nitin Motwani, in partnership with Los Angeles-based CIM Group, the project combines residential, retail, hospitality, entertainment, and public spaces into a dynamic and interconnected community.

The Grand Opening coincides with a wave of new tenant arrivals that reflect the project’s mission to blend global flavors, lifestyle experiences, and everyday conveniences. Chicago’s celebrated steakhouse Maple & Ash has opened a stunning two-story, 22,000-square-foot flagship location, offering a bold fusion of culinary excellence and unrestrained luxury. Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café brings its signature “art of eating crêpes” concept to Miami, featuring a menu that combines sweet and savory crêpes, paninis, waffles, and cocktails. Earls Kitchen + Bar, renowned for its globally inspired cuisine and vibrant ambiance, is now open, further enriching the development’s diverse culinary landscape. Other recent additions include The Spot Barbershop, a stylish and upscale grooming destination with a distinctive industrial design, and Starbucks, which features original murals by local artists Jhonattan and Samantha Arango, giving a uniquely Miami touch to the beloved global coffee brand.

Managing Partner Nitin Motwani described the project as a “city within a city,” and with each new opening, that vision becomes more tangible. The development now boasts nearly 300,000 square feet of pedestrian-oriented street-level retail and lifestyle experiences. Anchored by Downtown Miami’s first Apple store, the retail roster features high-profile brands such as Sephora, Lululemon, Ray-Ban, Lucid Motors, Free People, Savage X Fenty, The Container Store, Posman Books, and HźP Sneakers & Streetwear. Additional tenants preparing to open soon include Openbank by Santander, SkinSpirit, Blo Blow Dry Bar, Bijoux et Montres, and Club Studio, further enhancing the diversity and appeal of the tenant mix.

Miami Worldcenter’s culinary lineup reflects the city’s global influences, featuring local favorites such as Brasserie Laurel, Chug’s Express, and El Vecino Cigar & Cocktail Bar, alongside notable newcomers like Sixty Vines. In the coming months, several high-profile dining destinations will debut, including the Renowned Italian restaurant Serafina, Go Greek Yogurt, and the eagerly anticipated return of JUVIA, a Miami favorite known for its rooftop views and fusion of French, Japanese, and Peruvian cuisines.

Entertainment options at Miami Worldcenter add another layer to its appeal, with venues like Lucky Strike Bowling and the immersive Museum of Ice Cream offering experiences for families and visitors of all ages. The pedestrian-friendly layout and curated experiences are designed to invite people to linger, explore, and thoroughly enjoy the range of offerings this new urban hub has to offer.

As the most extensive transit-oriented development in South Florida, Miami Worldcenter is uniquely positioned for accessibility and convenience. It connects directly to MiamiCentral Station and Brightline’s high-speed rail, which links Downtown Miami with other major cities across Florida. It is also fully integrated with Metrorail, Metromover, Tri-Rail, and local trolley systems, placing it at the nexus of the region’s transportation network. Within walking distance of Museum Park, the Kaseya Center, the Adrienne Arsht Center, and Miami-Dade College’s Wolfson Campus, the development is situated at the very heart of Miami’s cultural and entertainment district.

Looking ahead, Miami Worldcenter is poised to bring more than 11,000 residential units to market through its multi-phase development plan. Several luxury apartments and condominium towers are already complete, while thousands more units are under construction or in the planning stages. The hospitality component is also expanding, with more than 1,100 hotel rooms expected across the site. The Citizens Miami Worldcenter hotel is already open, and additional hospitality venues are planned for future phases.

As stated by Shaul Kuba, Co-Founder and Principal of CIM Group, every new opening adds richness and variety to the Miami World Center experience, creating a lively environment that encourages exploration and engagement. With its mix of luxury living, world-class dining, premier retail, and immersive entertainment, Miami Worldcenter is not just a destination—it is a landmark of Miami’s future.
