According to a recent report by the Census, Miami experienced a 1.7% increase in population between 2021 and 2022. This growth rate places Miami as the fourth fastest-growing city among the 50 largest cities in the United States, as highlighted by The Seattle Times.
Based on the newly released data, Miami’s estimated population reached 449,514 as of July 1, 2022, compared to 441,999 in the previous year. However, it’s worth noting that the Census had previously estimated Miami’s population at 442,799 as of July 1, 2020. The data suggests a slight population decline during the pandemic boom from 2020 to 2021.
Additionally, the Census data revealed that Miami-Dade County experienced a loss of approximately 25,000 residents between 2020 and 2021, followed by a gain of around 3,000 residents between 2021 and 2022.
