New 5.8 acres park is underway in Miami Beach

May 3, 2019

The city of Miami Beach will acquire new green space, a park with 5.8 acres. The project will transform the parking lot, already being demolished, in front of Miami Beach Convention Center in the Pride Park – the name still needs approval.

The park will house the tents for the Design Miami show, which means that the main lawn area will be closed for the public for about two months annually for the assembly and disassembly of the event.

About 500 trees will be planted as part of the construction. The conclusion is scheduled for December of this year in time for Art Basel.

Independently, another 3-acre park is planned to begin construction right at the entrance to South Beach on the block 500 Alton Road.
