Neymar Brings a New Wave to Miami: Brazilian Soccer Star Buys Exclusive Waterfront Property
November 1, 2024Brazilian soccer sensation Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior, widely known as Neymar, has made a significant investment in South Florida by purchasing a prime residential plot in Miami for $26 million, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Brazilian football star, who plays for Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League and the Brazil national team, officially closed the deal last week. Sources later confirmed with The Real Deal that Neymar intends to build a lavish 13,000-square-foot home on the property, partnering with the London-based design firm Elicyon for the project. Though exact construction timelines remain undisclosed, Neymar’s acquisition has fueled speculation about a possible move to Inter Miami in 2025.
The property, situated in the exclusive Bal Harbour neighborhood at the northern edge of Miami Beach, spans a 0.6-acre lot featuring 150 feet of water-facing views and proximity to upscale dining, shopping, and the beach. According to Zillow, Neymar’s interest in the property stemmed from “the privacy and security of the gated community, as well as the size of the property,” as noted by his representative.
This Miami estate adds to Neymar’s growing portfolio of luxury properties worldwide. His recent real estate ventures include a $3 million residence in the affluent São Paulo suburb of Alphaville, known for its mile-long swimming pool and a garage with space for 20 cars. Neymar is reportedly also eyeing a secluded private island in Brazil, Japao, accessible only by boat or helicopter and listed for approximately $9.1 million.
With these high-profile investments, Neymar continues expanding his footprint in elite real estate, building a portfolio that mirrors his global status on and off the soccer field.
