Revealed: Melo Group files plan for its biggest project to date

August 23, 2019

Edgewater might soon be the home of a new massive twin-tower developed by Melo Group. The developer just filed the plans for Island Bay, how the building would be called, which could be the biggest development for the company until now.

The 60-stories towers would rise 648 feet above the ground, matching or surpassing the height of the tallest buildings intended or finished in the neighborhood.

There is a total of 782 units planned between the two towers; renderings show a zig-zag design with the balconies. Melo Group is requesting approval from Miami-Dade’s Shoreline Review Committee for the proposal.

The developer will also need city approval to close streets for the building’s footprint, although they say they will dedicate back land to the city in exchange.

Arquitectonica is the architect.
