Riverside Wharf Miami: Transforming the Riverfront

February 25, 2025

A vibrant waterfront property along the Miami River, once home to The Wharf Miami, is set to undergo a major transformation. This ambitious project, Riverside Wharf Miami, will introduce a luxury hotel, high-end dining, and an entertainment complex, redefining the potential of the Miami riverfront.

From Pop-Up Venue to Iconic Development

The Wharf Miami, a popular event space for food trucks, yoga sessions, and nightlife, closed in August 2023. However, founders Alex Mantecon and Emi Guerra always had bigger plans. Their vision took a significant step forward on February 7, when they selected Moss Construction as the general contractor for the $300 million project. Groundbreaking is expected by summer 2024.

What to Expect at Riverside Wharf Miami

Spanning 1.35 acres, the development will feature:

  • A 167-room Dream Hotel, a luxury brand under Hyatt
  • A 100,000-square-foot entertainment complex with a nightclub and two upscale restaurants
  • Late-night entertainment, with zoning allowing alcohol service until 5 a.m.
  • Garcia’s Seafood Grille & Fish Market expansion, including a new raw bar, fish market, and outdoor dining

Public Support and Financial Backing

The Riverside Wharf Miami project required public approval, receiving voter support in 2016 and 2022. Backed by Coral Gables-based Driftwood Capital, which manages over $4 billion in hospitality assets, the project has secured the necessary funding for development.

Infrastructure and Amenities

The project will include two towers:

  • Dream Hotel – An eight-story luxury hotel with premium accommodations
  • Entertainment Complex – A six-story hub for nightlife and fine dining

Additional highlights:

  • Marina – A 540-foot dock designed to accommodate superyachts
  • Dining – Restaurants featuring Asian and Italian coastal cuisine
  • Nightlife – A high-end nightclub and day club
  • Event Space – 18,000 square feet, including a 3,000-square-foot balcony
  • Parking – Secured access to Miami Parking Authority lots under I-95

Miami’s Next Major Entertainment Hub

With an expected completion date in late 2027, Riverside Wharf Miami is set to become a premier destination for locals and tourists. Developers believe this project will revitalize the Miami River and spark further growth.

“Our goal is to create the next big entertainment center in Miami,” said Carlos Rodriguez Sr., CEO of Driftwood Capital. “This project will redefine the area and unlock its true potential.”
