Trump Doral International Towers Approved for Development
January 17, 2025Just days before his potential return to the White House, Donald Trump’s real estate company secured approval for a major Miami-area development. The Doral City Council unanimously approved The Trump Organization’s plan to build four luxury condominium towers, officially naming the project Trump Doral International Towers.
Trump Doral International Towers: A Landmark Project
The approved plan, unveiled Wednesday evening, includes:
- 1,498 residential units across four 20-story towers
- 142,000 square feet of luxury retail and dining spaces
- A four-story villa with 20 exclusive residences
Originally introduced as Doral International Towers in 2022, the project has now been renamed to reflect its Trump branding.
“It always has and will be a Trump product,” said Felix Lasarte, attorney representing The Trump Organization.
First Active Presidential Development
This marks the first active real estate development by a sitting U.S. president and The Trump Organization’s first self-developed investment in South Florida since 2012.
Project Location & Key Features
The 5-million-square-foot development will rise at 4400 NW 87th Ave., Miami, surrounding the Trump National Doral Golf Club, which Trump purchased for $150 million in 2012.
Residential Offerings:
- 332 one-bedroom condos
- 557 two-bedroom condos
- 280 three-bedroom condos
- 309 four-bedroom condos (ranging from 885 to 5,000 sq. ft.)
- Villas with rooftop terraces (ranging from 1,000 to 3,400 sq. ft.)
Luxury Amenities:
- Ground-floor commercial spaces
- Seventh-floor pool decks
- Rooftop garden terraces
- 3-acre park with a plaza & water feature
- Over 3,000 parking spaces
According to Lasarte, sales are expected to launch within 18 months, with condos starting at $2 million.
Overcoming Development Challenges
The original 2022 proposal included 2,209 units but was scaled back to address traffic and quality-of-life concerns raised by Doral residents.
After working closely with city officials, the revised plan gained the support of Doral Mayor Christi Fraga and Council Member Rafael Pinyero, who had initially opposed the project.
“There’s a lot of investment and care for this project,” said Mayor Fraga during the hearing. “I appreciate your patience in working with us to address concerns.”
A Milestone for Trump’s Real Estate Empire
Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of The Trump Organization, attended the hearing in support of the project. No public opposition was voiced, and the proposal was swiftly approved with a 4-0 vote.
Reflecting on the long approval process, Lasarte joked, “It actually took Trump less time to become president again than it did for me to get this thing approved.”
With approval secured, The Trump Organization is set to begin sales and move forward with construction, further expanding its footprint in South Florida’s luxury real estate market.
